Innovation The need for innovation is what motivates teams to take action. Since the definition of innovation is 'something new, or a change made to expand or improve an existing product or idea', implementing the right innovation at the right time will determine a project's success. To that end, the SOI identifies how a person will initially process the need to consider expanding possibilities or simply improve upon what already exists. Further, SOI results identify motivations as internal, to the content of the project, and external, to the execution of the project. When the team has determined the current need, whether to expand or improve, SOI results point to those on the team that most naturally innovate in the direction necessary. Gaining these insights establishes a solid base for building any project.
